Who is the programme for?
The CPD programme is designed to support and encourage good practice in music education at KS2, but has a particular focus on Wider Opportunities, or whole class instrumental and vocal teaching.

To be eligible for the programme you should have plans to be involved in Wider Opportunities type activity in the next three years.
The government's aspiration is that, by 2011, all children will get a year of whole class instrumental or vocal tuition at KS2.  This means that the number of teachers involved in this sort of work will grow significantly over the next three years.  You may enrol on the programme if you expect to be involved in this work, even though your plans may not be definite.  You should consider, however, that you will want your KS2 Music CPD mentor to see you in action in a whole class teaching environment, and that some of the activities in the modules are more relevant in whole class contexts.

The KS2 Music CPD Programme is only available for those working in maintained schools in England. If you work for a private school this means that unfortunately you won't be eligible unless you can secure some work in a state school.

If you are still not sure if you are eligible please email Waleed Soliman
