The CPD programme is designed to support and encourage good practice in music education at KS2, but has a particular focus on Wider Opportunities, or whole class instrumental and vocal teaching. To be eligible for the programme you should have plans to be involved in Wider Opportunities type activity in the next three years. The government''s aspiration is that, by 2011, all children will get a year of whole class instrumental or vocal tuition at KS2. This means that the number of teachers involved in this sort of work will grow significantly over the next three years.
The KS2 Music CPD Programme is only available for those working in maintained schools in England. If you work for a private school this means that unfortunately you won''t be eligible unless you can secure some work in a state school.
