Please refer to the Programme Handbook for full details. Step 1 Register Do this from the pink box on the homepage Step 2 Identify your professional development needs. Use the Needs Analysis to produce a Professional Development Plan (PDP) with the help of your mentor and upload it in your ''My Programme'' area on the website. Guidance on this process is available here. Step 3a - Work through the modules Go to the Modules area select of one of the modules on your PDP. You can work on any number of modules simultaneously but we highly recommend you start with What is Musical Learning? Click on the link to the Study Guide to get started. For modules which include a workshop, click on workshops to browse and book a place on the workshop. “This was my first face-to-face module and I found it very inspiring and gave me more confidence” (feedback from a KS2 workshop 2008) For modules which contain a workshop you need to do things in the right order. Look at the Study Guide first. Some way into the Study Guide you will find Key Task 1 - you complete Key Task 1 before you go to the workshop as some of the workshop activity will draw on the work you have done in the Study Guide. After the workshop return to the rest of the Study Guide and complete Key Task 2. Step 3b - Uploading your workEvery time you finish a module put your responses to Key Tasks 1 and 2 in your portfolio - you can either keep this offline or you can build your portfolio in your My Programme area (recommended). There is a tour of your My Programme area here.If you are using the online portfolio you need to evaluate each module so that it shows as complete. Step 3c - Repeat! Work on each module that you identified on your PDP. Step 3d - Online seminars and forums (ongoing) Participating inthe Programme Forum is a great way to share experiences and network with other practitioners and mentors on the programme. The Online Seminar programme gives you the chance to discuss topics set by leading figures in Music Education and your contributions in these can be included in your portfolio as evidence of your engagement with the programme. Step 3e - School Visit You and your mentor will agree at least one date for a school visit. You will then jointly write a report which you can upload to your portfolio on the website. Step 4 - Submit your portfolio For details of what needs to be in your portfolio and information on how to submit it click here. Upon receipt of your completed portfolio you will receive a certificate from the Open University Back to Programme Info page
