Module summary All music teaching needs to be planned for if it is to meet the needs and aspirations of the children you teach. However as Jo Glover, the author of the Study Guide suggests, planning need not be onerous, it can be creative and even fun! This module will address the following questions: What experience do I have of medium and long-term planning for musical learning? Do I know the questions I need to ask myself when planning to address the musical learning needs of all my children? What experience have I had of planning collaboratively with other teachers and music leaders? Study Guide (Click to download the PDF - you must be logged in) What do we mean by Musical Learning Objectives and Outcomes? After you have read the first part of the Study Guide please read this document before completing Key Task 1. Take Key Task 1 and a copy of the document to the workshop. Lesson Plan Proforma (Click to download the word document that you will need for Key Task 2)Medium Term Plan (This handout is provided in the workshop but you can click here to download extra copies) This module comprises a Study Guide and a workshop. The two elements are linked through two ‘Key Tasks’. First, work through the Study Guide up to and including Key Task 1. You should take your response to this task to the workshop where it will form the basis of one of the workshop activities. Following the workshop, work through the remainder of the Study Guide and complete Key Task 2. To demonstrate engagement with this module the minimum you should record in your portfolio your response to the two key tasks (guide: 400 words each). The activities within the module are there to support your learning and you are encouraged to draw upon them in responding to the Key Tasks. However they are not compulsory. If you have not read the Programme Handbook you should do so now.
