Listening, appraising and responding are central to all musical activity yet their development is often sidelined into ‘listening lessons’ or ‘aural tests’. In this module we look at the ways in which listening, appraising and responding can be integrated into composing, improvising and performing and the many ways children can demonstrate the quality of their responses to music.
