Programme StructureKey information on the structure of the programme Practitioner JourneyYour journey through the programme - step by stepWhen can I participate? Timeframe The CPD Programme is a rolling programme running until July 2011. Practitioners can register at any time although we advise that you complete the programme within four terms of starting so you need to bear this in mind when applying. Many Local Authorities are opting to run the programme for their staff with the workshops forming part of their INSET provision. If this is the case you will attend the workshops when they are run by the Local Authority. Please see the LA Routes page and the Programme Handbook for more details. Time Commitment You will need to complete a minimum of five modules to demonstrate that you have engaged with the programme (two modules are compulsory - What is Musical Learning? and Developing Vocal Work). Additional modules are determined by the Professional Development Plan (PDP) that you complete at the start of the programme. You will be able to access as many of the modules as you like from the Modules pages. The Study Guides will take about 6 hours each and if the module contains a workshop, this will be 3 hours long. You will also need to arrange to have at least one school visit by your mentor. Where are the workshops? Workshops for the programme will take place across England and you can book a place at any venue. If you work for a Local Authority that is running the programme via the LA Route you will attend the workshops in INSET days at venues arranged by the Local Authority or Music Service. How much does it cost? The programme is fully funded by the DCSF and there is no charge to take part. We do not, however, reimburse travelling expenses or cover for practitioners attending workshops, or any other expenses incurred. If you are outside England and would like to discuss how your organisation can access the programme please contact Nick Beach
