If you don''t find the answer here please contact Trinity or your Area Leader - details are on the Contact Us page. The Website How do I register? To register click on the word GO in the pink box on the top right of the homepage. If you are doing the LA Route you will probably fill in a paper form and the person that does the admin for your LA will register for you. When you register you will receive an email with your username and password so it''s really important that the email address you give is correct. How do I book onto a workshop? If you are on the individual route you book through the module page for the workshop you want to book. If you''re not sure how to do this click here for instructions. If you are on the LA Route the person doing the admin for your LA may register you for the workshops. Either way you can check what you are booked on from the ''My Programme'' link on the top left (you have to be logged in to see this link). Where do I find the Programme Handbook/Needs Analysis/Professional Development Plan? They are all on the practitioner page/mentor page and resources pages or click below for direct links: Programme Handbook Professional Development Plan (word) Needs Analysis (excel) Needs Analysis (word) How do I download the Study Guides? Download the Study Guide by going to the modules page (from the box on the homepage), selecting the module you want from the diagram and click on the ''Study Guide'' link at the bottom of the page. Why can I see a ''Dashboard'' link on the top left when I log in but not ''My Programme''?If you have more than role on the programme (typically a mentor as well as a practitioner) you might see the word Dashboard when you log-in. This is the same as ''My Programme'' but will contain everything you need for all of your roles. I''m a carry over practitioner where do I find the modules from last year? If it''s a module that you haven''t started yet then you can use the new updated Study Guide - these are found in the modules area of the site. If you need a copy of one that you started in the first year of the programme, contact Waleed Soliman at Trinity and he will email you the PDF. Every time I save my PDP it reverts to a blank version - why is that? After you open the template from the website you have to save it locally to the hard drive of your computer. To do this, go to the ''File'' menu on the top of the screen and click ''Save As''. Then select the location on your computer that you want to save it in, give it a name and click save. NB If you just click save from the PDP document you will lose anything you entered! How do I load my work into ''My Programme''? First you need to save all your work onto the hard drive of your computer. (If you don''t know how to save documents to your own computer contact Waleed at Trinity for some help!) Once you have done this you go to ''My Programme'', click on ''Portfolio'' and follow the instructions. I have lost my username/ password If you have lost your password for the website, click on ''Forgotten Password'' in the grey log-in area then enter the email address that you used to register when prompted. Your username and password will be emailed to you. If you continue to have problems please contact Waleed Soliman at waleed.soliman@trinityguildhall.co.uk I don’t seem to be receiving any emails from the any of the Programme team or my Area Leader Depending on the security settings on your mail account, your email filter may be identifying the Trinity Guildhall domain as Junk mail. To ensure that this doesn’t happen, please add the following domains to your ‘Safe Sender’ list: @trinityguildhall.co.uk@trinitycollege.co.uk @open.ac.uk The Programme What is Wider Opportunities? Wider Opportunities is another name for Whole Class Instrumental/Vocal Tuition. Lots more information is located here Do I qualify for the Programme - I work in a private school? The programme is only available to those working in state funded schools. More information on eligibility for the programme is here. What is an LA Route and how do I find out more about it? Many Local Authorities are running the programme for their staff during their INSET days. Often they are able to include other practitioners from the local area in the workshops so they are a great place to meet other practitioners. For full information including how to set this up in your LA click here. I am finding some of the activities and Key Tasks in the Study Guides difficult because I am not teaching Wider Opportunities To be eligible for the programme you should have plans to be teaching Wider Opportunities over the next 18 months. However in cases where this is problematic, please contact your Area Leader to discuss a suitable pathway for your individual situation. The Workshops Which workshops do I need an instrument for? You will need to take an instrument for the following workshops: What is Musical Learning? Composing and Improvising Genres and Traditions What is Performing and How Should we Teach it? What sort of instrument shall I take to the workshop? Anything! Our Workshop Leaders have worked with all sorts of instruments in recent workshops including bagpipes, a sousaphone and a banjo - as well as the more traditional choices. I don''t play an instrument - what shall I do for the workshop? Bring your voice! Singing is key to all of the modules so your voice is the easiest instrument to bring along. Can I claim travel expenses for attending workshops - there are none nearby? Whilst the workshops themselves are free of charge and we try to arrange them so that they cover the whole country, sometimes people do need to travel. Normally we aren''t able to provide expenses but in exceptional circumstances we may be able to. If you think that the travel expenses may prevent you from attending the workshop please speak to your mentor or Area Leader. Mentors and practitioners How do I know who my mentor is? If you are on the area route your Area Leader will contact you shortly after you register to welcome you to the programme, explain what you need to do first and tell you who your mentor is. On the LA Route it may be your Head of Service or the person that is doing the Admin Support for the programme that tells you who is mentoring you. My mentor/practitioner hasn''t been in touch with me for several weeks/months - what should I do? Normally mentors and practitioners are able to build a good working relationship but sometimes people find it difficult to get in touch when they need to. If you do have problems please contact your Area Leader. The end of the programme - portfolio, certification and accreditation How to I submit my portfolio and what goes into it? A list of everything you need to upload into your online portfolio is on the Portfolio Guidance page. It also tells you how to submit it. Does anyone read my portfolio? Yes! All portfolios are read by a member of the KS2 Music CPD Programme Team - this is why it sometimes takes a little while for your certificate and letter of completion to be sent out. What do I get for completing? Practitioners who submit a portfolio receive a Trinity Guildhall/Open University certificate of completion. They are also able to go on for further accreditation. How do I do an ATCL/masters? There are two accreditation routes for practitioners that complete the CPD programme. Full details are here.
